In 1978 ThermaScan, Inc. was formed to offer infrared inspection services for the industrial facilities along the Mississippi River between New Orleans & Baton Rouge. Soon the company began to market infrared instrumentation as well as inspection services. By 1980 the company had added vibration analysis services and instrumentation to its offerings. It also began to work throughout the southeastern United States. To reflect the expanding nature of its predictive maintenance offerings the company name was changed to Measurements, Inc. One of the new technologies added was reciprocating engine & compressor analysis. By 1990 the compressor analysis group had split off to form Emspec, Inc. In the early 1990's technology training was added to the company's offerings. Measurements was now able to help its clients, whether they wanted to purchase instrumentation and training to operate their own program or contract Measurements to provide this expertise. In 1997 Measurements opened it's first office outside Louisiana, in Arkansas. Later an office in Atlanta, GA was added, as well. In 2003 Measurements & Emspec came back together. The combined company now offers a uniquely full range of predictive technology services, products and training. From program design and gap analysis to technology products & services to on-line reporting, Measurements/Emspec provides its customers the information they need to maximize equipment availability while minimizing operating costs.
